Dana White hails 'f*****g awesome' English UFC fans during fan Q&A
The UFC president says fans from around the world should travel to the UK to have "the best time of your life" at UFC London on July 23.
It's fair to say the English UFC fans left quite an impression on Dana White back in March.
The UFC president was blown away by the atmosphere at the O2 Arena as the UFC made its first return to the UK since the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event saw a host of Brits deliver spectacular performances, but as impressive as the fighters were inside the cage, it was the 17,081 fans in the stands who proved the night's big winners.
That's because the atmosphere they generated that night in London was so special, it convinced White to tear up his schedule and rework the UFC's 2022 calendar to include a return to London in the summer.
That event will take place at the O2 on Saturday, July 23, and White gave a glowing endorsement of the English fans during a live fan Q&A ahead of UFC 275.
Speaking from his Las Vegas headquarters via video link to UFC analyst and presenter Laura Sanko, White was asked if he could go back in time to relive a fight for the first time, which one he would pick.
His answer started out predictably, as he name-checked the UFC's biggest-ever star. But then he waxed lyrical about the English fight fans and implored fans from around the world to head to the capital for the UFC's second London show of the year.
"That's a tough one, but it would probably either be a Conor McGregor fight – just the energy and buzz was insane – or it would be the whole last event we just did in England that was f*****g nuts! Absolutely f*****g nuts!" he grinned.
"It was so crazy, that we just planned another event in England when we weren't even going to go back to England that fast, because the fans are that f*****g awesome.
"And I'm telling you all right now. All of you that are watching right now, if you've never been to a fight in the UK... July 23.
"This summer, take an unscheduled trip to London, check into a hotel, hang out and come to this event. You will have the best time of your life. The fans in England are insane!"
