Leah McCourt vs. Dayana Silva added to Bellator Dublin card

"The Curse" returns to action at the 3Arena against fellow Top 10 featherweight contender Dayana Silva at Bellator Dublin.

Northern Ireland's Leah McCourt will look to bounce back into the win column when she returns to action at Dublin’s 3Arena on September 23.

McCourt is one half of the latest bout to be added to the Bellator Dublin card scheduled for later this summer, with "The Curse" set to take on fellow Top 10 featherweight contender Dayana Silva in a main card bout.

After losing her pro debut to Rizlen Zouak at Cage Warriors 85 in June 2017, McCourt found her feet as a professional and reeled off six consecutive victories, with five of those coming under the Bellator banner.

But her last outing, against Ireland's former title challenger Sinead Kavanagh, saw McCourt fall to only her second pro defeat as she lost a unanimous decision after a wild back-and-forth battle in Dublin at Bellator 275.

Now McCourt returns to the 3Arena looking to get back to winning ways, and she'll face Silva, who snapped a two-fight skid with a unanimous decision victory over Janay Harding at Bellator 279 in April. The Brazilian contender is 1-2 under the Bellator banner, but her two defeats have come against elite-level opposition – three-time title challenger Arlene Blencowe and former champion Julia Budd.

Bellator Dublin takes place at the 3Arena, Dublin on Friday, September 23. The event will stream live in the U.K. on BBC Three/BBC iPlayer.
