Muhammad Mokaev sharpens his skills at American Top Team ahead of UFC London return
"The Punisher" meets "The Young Punisher" as Muhammad Mokaev trained with Pedro Munhoz ahead of the Brit's upcoming bout at UFC London.
English flyweight Muhammad Mokaev has gone Stateside to pick up some extra training ahead of his second UFC outing.
Mokaev is set to face former LFA champion Charles Johnson at the O2 Arena on July 23, where he'll look to produce a repeat of the performance on his octagon debut, where he submitted Cody Durden via rear-naked choke in just 58 seconds.
To help him achieve that aim, Mokaev has headed across the pond to America Top Team, and has been training alongside Brazilian bantamweight contender Pedro Munhoz at the South Florida gym. Munhoz is also preparing for a matchup – against Sean O'Malley at UFC 276 on July 2.
Mokaev posted to his social media to pay tribute to Munhoz for his help after the pair trained together ahead of their respective bouts.
The video started with Munhoz praising the young Brit, saying, "Hey, what's up guys. Just finished training with Muhammad right here.
"Be ready, the next flyweight champion of the world right here!"
Mokaev responded by motioning to Munhoz and saying, "The best, the best! (He's) gonna smash Sean O'Malley!"
