The return of 'Judo Jimmy': Jimmy Wallhead signs new multi-fight deal with Cage Warriors
UK MMA veteran "Judo" Jimmy Wallhead is homing in on Cage Warriors history after signing a new contract with the promotion
Jimmy Wallhead is back in Cage Warriors, and he is two fights away from making promotional history.
A 17-year, 42-fight veteran of the sport, Wallhead hasn't competed since a two-fight, two-win run with Bellator in early-2019, and has spent much of his time since as head coach of the Hardy-Wallhead gym in Coalville, Leicestershire.
But now, three years removed from his last appearance, Wallhead is back. The 38-year-old has signed a multi-fight deal with Cage Warriors, and will look to pick up where he left off by extending his win streak to three on his 16th appearance for the promotion.
Wallhead's return also puts him within touching distance of the promotion's all-time record of 17 professional appearances currently held by Jack Mason.
"I’m super happy to return to Europe’s number one promotion and put myself in the mix with the top boys," Wallhead told Cage Warriors.
"There’s still plenty of fight left in this old dog. I’m buzzing to be back."
Wallhead is the headline name on a list of contract signees announced by the promotion on Friday.
Joining Wallhead are welterweights Jake Constantino and Marcus Mee, featherweight Liam Molloy and lightweight James Power, as well as flyweights Michelangelo Lupoli and Benoit Blanc.
In addition, Cage Warriors middleweight contender Will "Drago" Currie has also signed a new extended contract with the promotion.
