UFC 265 review: Ciryl Gane reaches the heavyweight summit

It took just 10 professional bouts for 'Bon Gamin' to capture interim UFC gold.

UFC 265 may have been denied the added value of an Amanda Nunes title fight, but the event still delivered plenty of superb action, with France’s Ciryl Gane coming of age by capturing the interim UFC heavyweight title in only his 10th professional fight.

“Bon Gamin” produced a near-flawless display to finish Derrick Lewis in the third round and set up a mouthwatering unification clash with the undisputed champ, former teammate and training partner Francis Ngannou.

On this week’s episode, we take a look back at an action-packed fight card in Houston, Texas, including headline-making performances from Jose Aldo, Vicente Luque and Rafael Fiziev.

We also discuss the confirmed booking of Darren Till vs. Derek Brunson for September 4, though the original plan of holding the event in London appears to have been scrapped, and look ahead to a trio of big events set for this coming Friday, with ONE Championship, the PFL and Bellator all set to host shows this weekend.
